Brand and platform foresight / August 24, 2026 / 6 minute read
The platforms change. The persuasion does not.
From Overture and Ask Jeeves to paid social, Klaviyo and AI, the technology keeps changing. The work still begins with relevance, trust and a reason to act.
I was buying and selling keywords before Google defined modern search. I have watched social intelligence platforms become enterprise software, ecommerce tools become operating systems and AI turn a week of synthesis into an afternoon of sharper questions.
New tools matter. I love learning them early because they create leverage. But a tool does not know which problem is worth solving, which person belongs at the table or what a brand can credibly ask a community to believe.
The durable advantage is judgment. It is knowing how to read a room, pre-align stakeholders, build the right expert team and give people enough authority to move. It is also knowing when to shut up, listen and let a specialist do what they do best.
That is why experience is not the opposite of innovation. Used well, it is the pattern recognition that keeps innovation from becoming expensive theater.
Brand is the story. Social is how it travels. Relationships determine who carries it.
